Terms of service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of OpticalGlasses.co.uk and the purchase of any products from our website.

By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or purchase our products.

Throughout these Terms, "OpticalGlasses", "we", "our" and "us" refer to the operator of OpticalGlasses.co.uk. "You" and "your" refer to any person accessing the website or purchasing our products.

Eligibility

To place an order, you must:

  • be at least 18 years of age, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian;

  • provide accurate and complete information;

  • ensure any prescription or measurements you provide are correct and up to date; and

  • be legally capable of entering into a binding contract.

If you are ordering on behalf of another person, you confirm that you have their authority to do so.

About Our Products

OpticalGlasses offers prescription glasses, non-prescription glasses and sunglasses.

Prescription eyewear is custom-made using the prescription and measurements you provide. Products are manufactured by our MHRA-compliant international manufacturing partner and undergo quality assurance checks before dispatch.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our business, products, services or legal obligations. The version published on our website at the time you place your order will apply to your purchase.

Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under applicable UK consumer protection legislation.

2. Orders

Placing an Order

When you place an order on OpticalGlasses.co.uk, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products. Before submitting your order, please ensure that all information, including your prescription (where applicable), measurements, delivery address and contact details, is accurate.

After placing your order, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your order. This does not mean your order has been accepted.

Order Acceptance

A contract between you and OpticalGlasses is formed only when we accept your order and send you an order confirmation.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order before acceptance if:

  • a product is unavailable;

  • there is an obvious pricing or product information error;

  • payment cannot be authorised;

  • the information provided is incomplete or inaccurate;

  • we are unable to verify your prescription where required;

  • we reasonably suspect fraudulent or unlawful activity; or

  • we are unable to manufacture your order safely.

If we cancel an order before acceptance, any payment received will be refunded using the original payment method.

Pricing and Payment

All prices are shown in Pounds Sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges and optional extras will be shown during checkout before payment is completed.

Payment must be successfully authorised before production or dispatch can begin.

Changes and Cancellations

If you need to amend or cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible.

Where production has not yet started, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request. Once a custom-made prescription product has entered production, changes or cancellations may no longer be possible.

Website Use

You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and not to interfere with its operation, security or content. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, distribute malicious software or use our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.

We reserve the right to suspend or restrict access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached or where it is necessary to protect our website, customers or business.

3. Prescription Orders

Prescription glasses and prescription sunglasses are custom-made to the prescription, measurements and lens options you provide.

Your Responsibility

By placing a prescription order, you confirm that:

  • your prescription is accurate, complete and up to date;

  • any measurements you provide, including Pupillary Distance (PD), are correct;

  • you have selected the correct frame and lens options; and

  • all information submitted is accurate.

We are not responsible for delays or manufacturing errors resulting from incorrect information supplied by you.

Prescription Verification

To ensure your eyewear is manufactured safely and accurately, we may ask you to provide a copy of your prescription or request further information before your order enters production.

If we are unable to verify or safely manufacture your prescription, we may recommend an alternative product or cancel your order and issue a full refund.

Custom-Made Products

Prescription eyewear is made specifically for you and production begins once your order has been accepted and any required prescription information has been received.

Once production has started, changes or cancellations may no longer be possible.

Quality Assurance

Every prescription order undergoes quality checks before dispatch to help ensure it has been manufactured in accordance with your confirmed order.

Minor variations that fall within recognised manufacturing tolerances do not constitute a defect.

Non-Prescription Products

This section applies only to prescription eyewear. Non-prescription glasses and sunglasses are not subject to prescription verification requirements.

4. Delivery

Delivery

We deliver to the countries available during checkout. Delivery availability may change from time to time due to legal, regulatory or operational requirements.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that products can be legally imported into their destination country. Any customs duties, taxes or import charges are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise stated.

Processing Times

Prescription eyewear is custom-made and production begins only after your order has been accepted, payment has been received and any required prescription information has been provided and verified.

Production and delivery times shown on our website are estimates only and may vary depending on prescription complexity, product availability or quality assurance requirements.

Shipping

Orders are shipped using trusted delivery partners. Tracking details will be provided where available.

Please ensure your delivery address is accurate when placing your order. We cannot accept responsibility for delays or additional costs resulting from incorrect address details.

Delays

While we make every effort to deliver orders within our estimated timeframes, delays may occasionally occur due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including customs inspections, severe weather, transport disruption or courier delays.

If a significant delay occurs, we will endeavour to keep you informed.

Delivery and Risk

Please inspect your order as soon as possible after delivery and contact us promptly if your order is damaged, incomplete or incorrect.

Ownership of your products passes to you once full payment has been received and the products have been delivered. Risk of loss or damage passes upon delivery, except where your statutory rights provide otherwise.

If an order is returned to us because of an incorrect address, failed delivery attempts or failure to collect the parcel, additional delivery charges may apply before it can be re-dispatched.

5. Returns, Refunds and Warranty

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

Non-Prescription Products

Non-prescription glasses and sunglasses may be returned within 30 days of delivery, provided they are unused, in their original condition and suitable for resale.

Unless the product is faulty, incorrect or not as described, you are responsible for the cost of returning the item.

Prescription Products

Prescription eyewear is custom-made to your individual prescription and measurements.

For this reason, we are generally unable to accept returns or offer refunds where:

  • you change your mind;

  • incorrect prescription or measurement details were provided;

  • the wrong frame, colour or lens options were selected; or

  • production has already begun.

This does not affect your statutory rights if a product is faulty, not as described or has been manufactured incorrectly.

Faulty or Incorrect Products

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, incorrect or you believe it has not been manufactured in accordance with your confirmed order, please contact us as soon as possible.

Where appropriate, we may ask you to provide photographs or return the product for inspection. If a manufacturing fault is confirmed, we will repair, replace, remake or refund the product in accordance with your statutory rights.

Warranty

All products are covered by our 90-day manufacturing warranty against defects in materials or workmanship under normal use.

The warranty does not cover:

  • accidental damage;

  • misuse or improper handling;

  • normal wear and tear;

  • scratches caused by improper care;

  • unauthorised repairs or alterations; or

  • damage caused by failing to follow our care instructions.

Refunds

Approved refunds will be made using the original payment method. We aim to process refunds promptly after the returned product has been received and inspected.

6. Pricing and Promotions

Pricing

All prices displayed on OpticalGlasses.co.uk are shown in Pounds Sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable.

Delivery charges, optional lens upgrades and any additional services will be clearly displayed during checkout before payment is completed.

Whilst we make every effort to ensure pricing is accurate, we reserve the right to correct any obvious pricing or product errors before accepting your order. If this occurs, you will be given the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel your order for a full refund.

Promotions and Offers

From time to time, we may offer promotions, discount codes or special offers.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • promotions are valid only during the advertised promotional period;

  • promotions cannot be applied retrospectively;

  • only one promotion or discount code may be used per order unless expressly stated otherwise;

  • promotions cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred; and

  • we reserve the right to amend, suspend or withdraw any promotion at any time.

Specific promotions, including eligibility criteria, exclusions and qualifying products, may be subject to separate promotional terms available on the relevant promotion page.

Fair Use

Promotions are intended for genuine retail customers. We reserve the right to refuse, cancel or limit orders where we reasonably believe an offer is being misused or used in a way that is fraudulent or inconsistent with these Terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Whilst we make every reasonable effort to ensure the accuracy of information on our website, we cannot guarantee that all content is complete, accurate or free from errors at all times.

We are not responsible for delays, additional costs or manufacturing errors resulting from incorrect information provided by you, including prescription details, pupillary distance (PD), lens selections or delivery information.

The appearance, fit and colour of eyewear may vary depending on individual facial features, lighting, camera quality, device settings and other factors. Our virtual try-on feature is intended to assist with frame selection and does not guarantee the exact appearance or fit of any product.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of our website or products.

We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform our obligations where such delays result from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, transport disruption, customs delays, supplier interruptions, industrial action or other unforeseen events.

Our total liability in connection with any order shall not exceed the amount paid for the relevant product, except where a greater liability is required by law.

9. General Provisions

Privacy

Your personal information will be collected, used and protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction where permitted by law.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Waiver

If we choose not to enforce any part of these Terms, this does not prevent us from enforcing our rights at a later date.
